"Gleena" means "clay" in Russian. Gleena’s organic shapes, soft sugary colors, and imagery are inspired by Asya Palatova's childhood summers spent at grandma’s country house outside of St. Petersburg, Russia. Surrounded by carefully tended gardens and apple trees, the country house was a gathering place for family and friends. Evocative of those leisurely days, the gleena line is meant to be used on a daily basis. All gleena tableware pieces are porcelain and are hand poured and crafted in small batches.
Gleena collaborated with Susy Pilgrim Waters of PilgrimWaters to create this limited edition blooming collection. Susy's lovely floral illustrations grace this beautiful ivory bowl. The asymmetric bowl was inspired by ocean-washed beach stones and pebbles: wonderful for snacks, olives, as a dipping bowl, salt cellar, or to hold a couple of ginger cookies with your tea. Shapes will vary slightly due to the handmade process.
