Along the southwestern "Malabar" coast of India, in an oppressively humid equatorial climate. Hand-loomed cotton from this region is renowned for its rich texture and high absorption capacity and is commonly used to make towels and airy apparel. The yarn is hand-spun, then hand-dyed and line-dried, and eventually hand-loomed on a traditional hand-operated Malabar wooden loom. The 500-year old tradition has been slightly adapted by adding a subtle "floating" weave accent and a softer color palette. Crisp white with a blue accent trim and dotted with geometric embroidery. Pre-washed and gets softer with every wash. Set of 4.
