The Dala Horse is one of the most common symbols of Sweden and in particular for Swedish traditional folk art. The Dala Horse been produced since the 1600s as a by-product of local furniture making, or as a toy sold at markets in central Sweden. The pattern "Leksand" was designed by Carola Bengtsson Malmstrom and introduced by Arvidssons Textiles in 1993.
