Teak is a tropical hardwood that has ben used for centuries in building ships. Teak's resistance to moisture, its extreme durability and its natural beauty are just a few of its astounding qualities. For the same reasons, teak is an ideal wood to use in the bar or kitchen. It's natural high oil content and hardwood grain will keep knives sharp. The teak is grown and harvested from Teakhaus plantation forests throughout South America. Each plantation forest follow rigorous social and environmental standards set forth by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).
