Teak is a tropical hardwood that has ben used for centuries in building ships. Teak's resistance to moisture, its extreme durability and its natural beauty are just a few of its astounding qualities. For the same reasons, teak is an ideal wood to use in the kitchen. It's natural high oil content and hardwood grain will keep knives sharp. The teak is grown and harvested from Teakhaus plantation forests throughout South America. Each plantation forest follow rigorous social and environmental standards set forth by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). Slim in profile and lightweight, this edge grain board which is gently rounded at the edges, is perfect for slicing on one side and serving on the other.
A true multi-task and essential to add to your culinary arsenal, this board is great for chopping or as a beautiful serving platter. Plenty of room for chopping vegetables or carving flank steaks, and it features a juice channel. Because it’s made of teak, it exudes oily resins that keep it conditioned, so it required less maintenance than bamboo or other wood boards. That same slight oiliness helped protect it from staining a little better than the other natural fiberboards, too.
