Cozying up with a mug of mulled wine or cider has been an antidote to chilly weather since ancient times. In Curio's Botanist Mulling blend they have combined classic warming spices with the honeyed floral notes from chamomile, rose, and elderflower, along with zesty grapefruit for a lovely citrus note to brighten things up. This convenient kit includes a muslin bag and enough spices to mull 1 gallon of cider or 2 bottles of wine. Kit includes enough mulling spice to make two batches.
To make one batch: pour a half gallon cider (or 1 bottle white wine) into a saucepan and add sweetener of choice, such as 2 tablespoons honey. Put 4 tablespoons mulling spice into the muslin pouch, tie closed and add to saucepan. Heat for 10 minutes but do not boil. Remove muslin bag and discard spices. Serve warm, garnished with a cinnamon stick and an orange wheel.
