They use special reactive glazes that undergo chemical reactions during firing, creating unique variations within the same collection. Porto Brasil employ practices that minimize their ecological footprint by reusing clay and glazes, harnessing kiln heat for energy efficiency, and operating with a closed-loop water system. The kilns use natural gas, reducing emissions. They also adhere to the highest global standards of food safety, particularly regarding the release of lead and cadmium including California Proposition 65, U.S. FDA, European Council Directive, and Australian Customs regulations.
